History
Paper Products Company Inc. has been a family owned business since 1913. The company originally manufactured paper tubs and containers for the food industry. During the 1920’s, as our nation went through a tuberculosis epidemic, the company turned to making paper water cups as a sanitary solution to inhibit the spread of the disease. Daniel Hamill and his business partners purchased the company in 1919. The company continued to grow as it added packaging products for food processing, industrial applications, and sanitary maintenance items.
Dan and Joe Lackner, nephews of Daniel Hamill purchased Paper Products Company in 1958. The business flourished into a merchant for disposable items distributed to hospitals, schools, food establishments and Pittsburgh’s massive industrial base. Dan and Joe believed that hard work, commitment to community and investing in their employees, were the keys to success. These core values quickly became the culture at Paper Products and continue on today.
Today, Paper Products Company has grown into a large supply chain solutions partner. Its ownership in the $16 billion-dollar Network Associates has enabled the company to market nationally with unsurpassed buying power. Paper Products Company supplies thousands of items to customers who value high-level packaging professionals, healthcare and sanitary experts, food service specialists, equipment and machinery automation, green solutions, and supply chain excellence. Paul and Joseph Lackner are third generation owners and a fourth generation is eager to contribute. While the company has grown, the model for success remains the same; Great to work with, Great to work for!
